Baymont Inn Cedar Rapids

Friendly staff, close to customer, definitely set up for the business traveler, need new mattresses as these have permanent indentations, high speed internet is mandatory these days but the free connection is too slow to be useful which necessitates a $7 upgrade to the "premium" service, room was clean. I was unaware that they could cancel my reservation without informing me in advance. They did let me stay the first night of my reservation but told me I was on my own for the other night even though I had confirmation of my reservation. Why are hotels allowed to do this without a penalty but if a person doesn't cancel their reservation within 72 hours they are charged a penalty. ...read more

The Baymont was an average hotel with nice staff. They helped us when we needed it. Too costly compared to Marriott across the road.

This was listed as a one star hotel and so I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the hotel and the level of service. The staff was friendly and helpful and though I was given a smoking room the cleaning and deodorizing they did in their usual cleaning process cleared out any evidence of the smoke. The breakfast was provided and had a really good selection. I had no complaints as I paid $30 per night and have stayed other places that no where near matched up to this place and I had paid much more for the experience. ...read more
